Pittsburgh has a long and rich tradition of steelmakers and McConway & Torley, LLC has been a part of this tradition for 150 years and remains one of the last steel makers in the city. With manufacturing locations in both Pittsburgh PA and Kutztown PA, McConway has the capability to produce 60,000 tons of steel per year. Recently modernized foundry operation allows M&T to increase daily pouring capacity and expand alloy and refining capabilities and new automated functions allow improved casting consistency and increased productivity.
Melting Operations equipment and capabilities include:
- 60,000 Ton Annual melt capacity
- (3) 20-Ton Electric Arc furnaces,
- Automatic alloy addition
- Ladle stir/trim station
- 30 Ton Ladle refining furnace
- 30 Ton Vacuum Tank degasser
- 60 Ton Hot Metal Crane capacity
